A delicate glass trophy won at the weekend has put a bright spotlight on a thriving mallee farming township of 1200.

Pinnaroo was presented the 2020 Ag Town of the Year at the Regional Showcase Awards at O’Leary Walker Wines in Clare on Friday evening.

The town trumped four other nominees – Kapunda in the Mid North, Kimba on the Eyre Peninsula, Parndana on Kangaroo Island and Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.

Now in its second year, the accolade recognises South Australian towns that are excelling in agricultural practices and the flow-on effect they have on communities.
