He might have hung up his jacket but there is no clipping Dr John ‘Fred’ Gilligan’s wings. Today we celebrated the significant role that Dr Gilligan played in retrieval medicine in South Australia.

The helipad at the former RAH was affectionately named “Gilligan’s Island”, while the retrieval centre was also named after this hero. So, to ensure his legacy is remembered a plaque has been unveiled at the new Helipad. With more than 600 flights supporting patient’s across South…
